17th Annual Lives of Commitment

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Those who participate in the Faith in Action Volunteers program were honored Thursday.

The Lives of Commitment Awards breakfast was held at the Doubletree by Hilton in Binghamton.

Faith in Action Volunteers is a program through the Broome County Council of Churches.

The program pairs volunteers with an older person in need to help with tasks such as rides to appointments and trips to the grocery store.

“We can see the work that they do and that to really inspire other people to find the service within themselves that they’re comfortable with.” said Jessica Wlyde, Program Director, “Others can make a difference in the community as well.”

This year was the 17th year of the commitment breakfast.

Faith in Action Volunteers help 400 people in the community each year.
