(WBNG) — There are still a few days left to donate to the Broome Leadership Institute Alumni Association’s Community food drive which benefits CHOW and Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
The community food drive is in replace of the the annual Canstruction event which took place at the Oakdale Mall.
Jamie Jacobs, BLI Alumni Board Member and Chair of the Canstruction of the Southern Tier Committee, said that the BLI Alumni Institute still wanted to find a way to give back, but had to find a way to adapt due to the pandemic.
The community food drive is looking for people to donate non-perishable food items or money and it runs through the end of April.
There are also certain promotional opportunties, for those who donate above a certain amount. For example, the BLI Alumni says that for those who donate over $500, they can be mentioned and thanked in a May press conference, :15 PSA at least one local television station’s commercial, and, given social media shoutouts.
