JP Morgan Chase celebrated their newest branch in Vestal’s University Plaza this Thursday.

Chase bank staff were on site with City of Binghamton Mayor Rich David, CHOW Director Les Aylesworth, Assemblywoman Lupardo’s Communications Director Chris Whalen for their grand opening along with other branches attending virtually via Zoom.

“Opening in the middle of the pandemic has that has had it’s unique challenges, but I’m so proud of the work that our team has done and continues to do to help our customers and our clients. Our doors have been open here since the middle of February, and even in the first few weeks the responses that we’ve gotten from customers has been outstanding. We’ve had customers calling just to thank us to customers coming into the branch with tears in their eyes that we’re here” branch manager Kayla Rother. “We know how important it is to have a physical presence in our community, our team and vessel is dedicated to the communities where they live. We are here and always ready to offer the levels of support. Our neighbors need to set themselves up for a strong financial future.”

“This is what we’re here for our local community and our students. We are here to make sure that each and every one of them make the most out of their money, so they can make the most out of their lives” says Monica Nation, regional director for the Consumer Banking Division of JP Morgan Chase & Co. “Now we do understand that many of our clients are going digital but that’s not all that they want to do, they want to do their easy banking, digital, but they want to see someone. And that is why we’re here.”

Attending community leaders recalled the significant impact that the bank has made especially during the pandemic notably assisting with funding for downtown Binghamton’s new parking garage and supporting CHOW’s efforts to end hunger.

“Congratulations to everyone here on this on this success,” says City of Binghamton Mayor Rich David. “My attitude has always been, this is a very small tight knit community, what happens in Binghamton benefits the entire region and what happens around Binghamton then benefits our community as well so I’m very grateful and appreciative for this investment in our community. These offices are truly truly beautiful.”

“JP Morgan has been making deposits and investments in this community for years and to me that says something about an organization and its core values. So on behalf the community, thank you. Thank you for supporting them through CHOW. We truly couldn’t do without folks like you,” said CHOW director Les Aylesworth.

“As the pandemic wore on I think we all, at least to an extent, started getting that fatigue and longing for that personal interaction once again. This branch and this mission of Chase puts those two things together, it’s the best of both worlds. You have the technology and the futuristic style if you will, to cater to those needs of clients but at the same time there are real physical people here, that you might interact with as well so that’s very exciting,” said Chris Whalen, Communications Director for Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo.

The bank is open six days a week to new and existing customers. Branch staff are available to help patrons Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm at 4700 Vestal Parkway East. The bank is located between Coldstone Creamery and Colour Hair Salon.
