Vestal NY (WBNG Binghamton) A local company continued its annual tradition Tuesday with a big contribution to the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse.
In its first year of donating, Columbian Financial Group collected one ton of food. Five years later, the donations by the company grew to three tons.
Chairman and CEO of the company Tom Rattmann told Action News the company also collected funds to be used for personal care products this year.
“We also did one more week where we collected funds to be used for personal care products. Things like shampoo, baby formula, toothpaste, etc, and collected over twelve hundred dollars that way,” Rattmann said.
Rattmann also said the company plans to raise even more money with an upcoming basket raffle at its annual picnic.
CHOW is a program that provides food for more than two thousand local people in need every month. In 2014, the organization provided roughly 90,000 meals per month.
