SEFCU is donating $27,500 to three Binghamton-area rescue missions and food pantries, the credit union announced Monday.

While the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW) will receive $20,000, the Whitney Place Rescue Mission will get $5,000 and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry will receive $2,500.

The local donations are part of $250,000 that SEFCU is donating to rescue missions and food pantries across the Capital region, Syracuse, Buffalo and Binghamton. SEFCU representatives are slated to deliver the checks Monday.

Founded in 1934, SEFCU has more than $2.8 billion in assets, nearly 300,000 members, and 47 branches in the Capital region, Binghamton, Syracuse, and Buffalo.
