I am writing to you about the Shabbat service I am planning for this Friday night after the hostage situation at a Reform Congregation in Texas last Saturday, on Shabbat.  Ehtisham and Sadia Siddiqui will be joining us on zoom.  I invite you to join us, if you are able and share the word with others.  It is important that we reconnect after our hiatus of coming together as a larger community of faith.  Circumstances tell us we can’t wait.   We now know that the hostages freed themselves with the support of law enforcement and the larger community.

Taking the lead from my colleague and friend, Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker, it is important to come together in love.  The affirmation he asked everyone to read with him at the healing service he led last night was:

I trust we can affirm this in our community as well.

Please let me know if you would like to offer a prayer reading, music or some words in the service.  I would be glad to include you.

We meet in person (proof of vaccination and masks required), on zoom ( https://bit.ly/37UQSpK  Meeting ID: 829 9450 3102  Passcode: 708450 )and on the Temple Concord Facebook page.  You can participate in person or from zoom.
