UHS collected food for the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse, or CHOW, in November.
It collected more than 1,700 pounds of food. On Wednesday, UHS also presented CHOW with a $11,000 check.
President & CEO of UHS John Carrigg said it was fun to see employees get competitive for a good cause.
“We know that food security is a significant factor in people’s health,” said Carrigg. “Anything we can do, especially this time of the year that can help and make families and individuals more secure from a food perspective, from a hunger perspective, that is what we’re trying to do.”
Director of CHOW Les Aylesworth said having food drives, such as this one, helps out immensely during the holiday season.
