POSITION TITLE: FIAV Program Assistant
POSITION STATUS: Part-time; 25 hrs/wk; Non-exempt;
occasional work after work hours

PROGRAM: Faith in Action Volunteers (FIAV)
SUPERVISOR: FIAV Program Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To assist the Program Director with the general
management of Faith in Action Volunteers, a program assisting older adults in the
community.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Manage Office For Aging Shopper Program:
o Manage the administrative portion of the Shopper Program.
o Work with Office For Aging, clients and volunteers.
 New Client Intakes & Assessments:
o Explain services and program policy to potential clients.
o Conduct phone intakes, and schedule in-home assessments.
 Support the scheduling office
o Answer phone calls, schedule appointments and provide program
information.
o Learn and develop proficiency using the RideScheduler database.
 New Volunteer Intakes & Orientation
o Provide information and collect the necessary paperwork from
potential volunteers.
o Schedule and manage orientation sessions.
 Support the Director with events and initiatives:
o Assist with various mailings, emails, and the quarterly newsletter.
o Help with the planning and preparation of fundraising events and
program initiatives as needed.
 Other duties as assigned by the director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand
and share the feelings of another, as well as deal professionally in difficult
situations and conversations.
 Organizational skills in order to meet multiple concurrent deadlines.
 Ability to work independently or as part of team, demonstrating flexibility,
adaptability, and dependability.
 Computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, Google Docs.
 Valid NYS driver’s license desirable.
